Skin Cancer
The skin is the largest organ on your body. It protects and covers your body, protects it from injuries, regulating its temperature and preventing it from potentially becoming dehydrated. Skin is made up of cells and has two main layers called the ‘epidermis’ and the ‘dermis’.
Skin cancer is the uncontrolled growth of cells in the skin.
There are three main types of skin cancer:
BCC and SCC are known as non-melanoma skin cancers. Melanoma is the dangerous and deadly skin cancer. As well as these three cancers, there are also other rare skin cancers. To see information on the types of skin cancers, click here.
