Symptoms/Check for signs
When you are checking for symptoms and signs for cancer, if you spot an unusual mole or freckle, it may be skin cancer. But to make sure of it, you should follow the ABCD method shown below. By doing this, you can tell whether it is cancer or not.
If you have fair pale skin, blue or green eyes, fair or red hair or lots of moles or freckles you are at a higher risk of developing skin cancer compared to darker skin, hair colour and eyes with a lower risk.
You should also make sure that you check your body regularly to ensure that you have no signs or traces of skin cancer.

There is some other things that you should look out for when checking your skin for signs of cancer:
- New moles.
- Moles that increases in size.
- A spot that changes colour from brown to black or is varied.
- A spot that becomes raised or develops a lump within it.
- The surface of a mole becoming rough or scaly.
- Moles that itch or tingle.
- Moles that bleed or weep.
- Spots that look different from the others.
